Chris Corcoran is one of the UK's finest exponent of the early swing, jump blues and R&B guitar styles, and has been performing across the British Isles and Europe for the last 20 years. Hailed by Blues in Britain magazine as an antidote to the plethora of blues/rock acts currently dominating the UK blues scene, the Chris Corcorn Trio and the Chris Corcoran Band perform a repertoire of jump blues and swing revival music dating from the 40s and 50s, covering artists such as pioneer and innovator of the jump blues T-Bone Walker, and American jazz guitarist and composer Bill Jennings.

Studio Recordings

To date, Chris has released 3 albums - The Getaway (2010), Listen Up (2015) and Blues Guitar Grooves (2017). In his latest offering, Chris features seven original tunes alongside four covers which include a menacing take on Henry Mancini’s A Shot in the Dark, a horn heavy reading of Milt Jackson’s Bags Groove and swinging versions of Guitar Gables' Congo Mombo and Albert Collins' Don’t Lose Your Cool.

Live Performances

Chris performs around 180 dates per year in a variety of line ups and projects. Over the last few years has regularly featured in the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain. He works with many of the UK's finest blues and vintage acts and holds the guitar seat for the highly rated Laura B & Her Band. His trio is a popular format in clubs and bars across the south east, and his new six-piece band is proving a big hit with swing and lindy hop dances and festivals across the UK.

Other Projects

When he's not out on the road, Chris runs regular guitar workshops, and is a registered composer for Soho-based Felt Music.

Chris is regularly featured in guitar magazines such as Guitarist Magazine and Guitar Technique Magazine, and examples of his signature licks are posted on the Guitarist YouTube channel.
